Lotus Pond - Lakme Fashion Week Collection

Collection Note:

Deriving from the elements of the lotus pond a collection of lahengas, dresses, tops, jackets, drapes saree and trousers is developed to make contemporary, quirky indo-western ensembles.  Main fabrics used are organza, chiffon and brocades. Techniques of quilting sequins is used for blouses, jackets and lehengas. There is also an extensive use of embroidery of french knots for lehengas.  Using left over fabrics from the collection, hand made flowers are used for applique. Draped cape jacket, top , pants and saree are paired with quilted sequins pieces.

The collection is a tribute to the Indian craftsmanship, also focusing on reducing wastage. These indo-western outfits are a mix of tradition and fun with a fresh take on contemporary Indian Clothing.
